When introducing and operating a smart card solution, it is a challenge to quickly transfer new certificates and status changes to the smart cards. As the smart cards are held by the users, their cooperation is required.
However, even in a smaller organization, an IT department cannot usually afford to be present for every change to the certificate portfolio, especially if this would require individual appointments with the users.
OUR SOLUTION
primeID SELF SERVICES offer users a wide range of functions for managing the lifecycle of smart cards and certificates.
New certificates and status changes are provided by the central credential management system via a self-service portal. The user is notified of these changes and transfers them to their smart card at a later time.
Self services are also available at the pre-logon stage. This means that the initial card personalization can also be carried out by the users themselves. To make this process secure, the card and a one-time password are sent via different channels.
